On the south bank of the River Liffey, opposite the Phoenix Park, are the war memorial gardens at Islandbridge, dedicated to the memory of the 49,400 Irish soldiers who died in the 1914-1918 war. The gardens, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and laid out in 1931, have been splendidly restored....

The Iveagh Gardens are among the finest and least known of Dublin's parks and gardens.
