The English Language Insitute was founded in 1960 and has since then enjoyed a huge success in the area of English language teaching. By concentrating its efforts eclusively on English language teaching, the institute has found it possible to be at the forefront of teaching English as a foreign language.

E.L.I. was the first language school in Ireland to be recognised by the Department of Education. Since then it has joined R.E.L.S.A. (Recognised English Language Schools Association). In 1991 the institute was one of the founding members of EAQUALS - an international organisation established to enhance the quality of language teaching.

Their teachers are all native speakers of English with University degrees; all have specialist qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language.

Before commencing studies, every student is given a placement test to decide which class level they should join. Students are prepared for external examinations in English. The maximum number of students per class is 15.

During the academic year, classes are held in our school in Saint Stephen's Green, in the city centre.

There are 3 terms of 11 weeks each, with either 2 or 4 hours tuition each day available.
