Welcome to Claremont House which is a charming Victorian property, located in Glenageary, County Dublin. The B&B is located in a beautiful private location, just off Adelaide Road, yet it is close to shops.

This Victorian style house was built in 1876 but includes all modern updates, yet the owners have beautifully  preserved its original features such as ceiling plasterwork and fireplaces throughout the property. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the whole house enjoys a homely and relaxing atmosphere throughout.

The house gives you easy access to the city centre, making it an ideal base for your stay in Ireland's capital. It's also convenient to Dun Laoghaire ferry port, the bus, train and DART.


 

 

Go through Dun Laoghaire and  turn right at Eagle House Pub into Adelaide Road. You take  the second  right on Adelaide  Rd  and into Claremont Villas. Claremont House is 7 houses down.

From Dublin Airport by Car

leave the airport and take the road to City Centre, after you pass the Regency hotel (6 km) on the left hand side, take the next left turn at the traffic lights, go down that road called Griffith Avenue R102 Get into the right hand lane and turn right at the end (traffic lights). Go straight on to the end (you will see a park ahead of you) Turn right unto R105, drive on keeping the Fairway Park on your left, at the end of the park turn left unto R131 and continue on over the East Link Bridge.
Follow signs for South city, Dunlaoghaire, Stena line or N11. Drive on the coast road until you cross the rail crossing and turn left towards Dunlaoghaire, continue on and when you pass Maxwell Motors on your left, take the next left N31 and drive the coast road until you see on your left hand side, first a car park and then a green area, Then take a right hand turn up Link road and through the rights and up Adelaide road though the next lights and take the next turn into Claremont Villas, B&B is 7 doors in, red door.
 From N11
Coming up the N11/M11 you will come to a large roundabout, go straight though and get into left hand lane and turn off and under the bridge ahead, turn left and over the bridge and go on straight until you come to a roundabout, take the second turn and go down the walled road to the next roundabout, take the fourth turn and go through two sets of pedestrian lights, take a left turn immediately after that second light and go down Adelaide road, over the railway bridge and turn left into Claremont Villas, B&B is 7 doors in, Red door.
From Dublin Port
On leaving Dublin port, turn left and go over the East Link Bridge. Follow the Directions now on second paragraph above from the airport.

From Dublin Airport by public transport (aerdart)
Outside the main doors and a little to the left there is a bus called the aerdart which will bring you to a Dart station (train) called Howth Junction. There you will ride the dart southside to Glenageary dart station. We are two minutes walk from there

 

 

Bedroom within Claremount House

This beautiful B&B consists of 5 comfortable bedrooms. 4 of the bedrooms consist of ensuite facilities. The rooms are spacious and ideal for a relaxing break.

Room Description.
Bedroom 1 features an Ensuite and has a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom consists of a bath(tub), shower, toilet, washbasin, bidet (with gold tap fittings) and a hairdryer.

Bedroom 2 Ensuite, same as bedroom 1.

Bedroom 3 is a standard room but it is a large room (originally the drawing room) with lovely ceiling plasterwork and a marble fireplace. It has a double bed and 2 single beds with a washbasin. The shower and toilet are lcoated just down the hall.

Bedroom 4 is a family ensuite and was originally the main bedroom in the house. It is a large room with a double bed and 2 single beds. The ensuite has a shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer.

Bedroom 5 is a family ensuite and  has a double bed and 2 single beds. There is a great view of the sea and the ensuite consists of a bath (tub), toilet, washbasin, bidet (with gold tap fittings) and a hairdryer.
 

 

Claremount House
The front lounge is the perfect haven for you to relax after a long day touring the area. This beautiful room has a tea and coffee trolley and television while you write your postcards home. A tasty full Irish breakfast awaits you in the dining room, with a selection of cereal to set you up for the days travels. Breakfast is available 7.30a.m – 9.00a.m


Daniels Restaurant
Claremont House has its own restaurant, Daniels Restaurant, which is located on Glasthule Road. This great gourmet restaurant is just a 10 minutes walk from the B&B and it is renowned for its fish and meat dishes. Treat yourself to the delicious taste of the Lobster Thermidor caught locally.

Touring

Claremont House is located between Dun Laoghaire and Sandycove in county Dublin. It's just a short walk from Glenageary DART Station. Nearby attractions include Martello Tower which was home to the famous Irish writer James Joyce. If you're a keen golfer, there's an 18-hole golf course nearby. It's also an excellent touring base. You can head south to Bray and check out the scenery in County Wicklow. Alternatively you can head into Dublin City, which is just 20 minutes away on the DART
