Centre of English studies was established in 1970 and has won a reputation as one of the leading English Language Schools in Ireland because of the very high standards of our courses and the friendly care and concern they have for the people who come to CES.

CES has welcomed learners from over 35 countries. Many students come back to CES several times. The majority have been referred to us by their friends or family who have already attended one of our courses; this confirms the high standard of our programmes.

Our programmes are very carefully designed and we are very aware that a good knowledge of English is an essential in today's academic and business world. We encourage you to practise your English at school, in the shops, with your family and with students of other nationalities.

Centre of English Studies is approved by the Irish Department of Education and is a member School of RELSA, which confirms that courses and accommodation provided by CES are of the highest standard and it is your guarantee of quality.

Come to CES and we promise you that you will have a memorable, worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

You will have two different teachers during the morning period. On your first morning both teachers will talk to you to find out your own personal objectives of the course. If you have definite aims (for example an examination or a career requirement) you should discuss these with your teachers and they will make sure that your interests are included in the teaching programme. The Director of Studies will continue to monitor your progress and will meet your teachers regularly throughout your stay.

Centre of English Studies offers you a choice of courses. The courses provide you with a comprehensive programme. Each day you study grammar, vocabulary and structure as well as developing your skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will have plenty of opportuntiy to practise and perfect your linguistic and communicative competence in a pleasant encouraging atmosphere. Some parts of your programme will be based upon a course book but, in addition, you will participate in many different activities designed to provide realistic practice within the classroom.
Location

Dublin's size allows easy access to the mountains and the countryside. Golf, windsurfing and horse-riding are available and easy to reach.

Our musicians and songwriters such as The Chieftains, The Dubliners, Van Morrisson, Chris de Burgh, U2 and many other rock stars have won international acclaim and during your stay you will have the opportunity to see new young aspiring Irish musicians. You will visit the traditional music pubs and discos and enjoy the easy, safe, informal night-life of the Irish.
