Burrenreagh Countryside Path

Starting point: Lower Square, Castlewellan From the Square take the Newcastle Road, then turn right down Burrenwood Road which leads to Cow Lane and the start of the first public footpath. Follow the sign downhill until a stile leads into a field on the left, turn right then cross the wooden bridge. Continue to the top of the field where a stile leads to the Burrenbridge Road, turn right at this point and walk towards the Dublin Road. Turn left at the Dublin Road, then first left on to the Burrenreagh Road, continue along this road untill a sign indicated a public footpath on the right. Continue until it reaches the Burren Road. Turn left at this point and walk until another sign indicates a public footpath on the left. Again take this path and follow it until it reaches the Burrenreagh Road. Once there, turn right at this junction and continue as far as the second laneway on the left. Follow this lane to the Burrenbridge Road, then turn left. The road leads back to Cow Lane.
