strangford ferry terminal

This ferry journey takes 7 - 12 minutes to cross the 8km narrow channel of Strangford Lough, from Portaferry to Strangford (and vice-versa).
The journey on the ferry is ideal if you want  to save time and miles, instead of driving all around the lough. Otherwise the journey by road is 72kms and would take an hour and a half,  up to 2 hours to travel.

The ferry leaves each port every half hour. Tickets can be brought on the ferry -  no need to pre-book!
