This lovely lough presents a splendid sight to travellers along the A1T from Newry to Banbridge. It also holds some fine trout. It is stocked annually with both brown and rainbow trout and each season produces some magnificent browns. The north and south ends should be avoided when wading but the rest is perfectly safe. This is a lake of some 100 acres situated in a scenic wooded area with forest walks, picnic area and a caravan site available nearby. It is stocked with brown and rainbow trout and the season is from 1 March to 31 October. There is a 4 trout daily bag limit and a 10 inch size limit, and orthodox fly fishing only is allowed in March. Thereafter, it is all legal methods except groundbait and maggots.
