castlewellan lake

This is a lake of some 100 acres situated in a scenic wooded area with forest walks, picnic area and a caravan site available nearby. It is stocked with brown and rainbow trout and the season is from 1 March to 31 October. There is a 4 trout daily bag limit and a 10 inch size limit, and orthodox fly fishing only is allowed in March. Thereafter, it is all legal methods except groundbait and maggots.
