Slieve League
Carrick, Donegal
The highest cliff face in Europe, Slieve League is spectacular not just for its sheer elevation but also for its colour; at sunset the rock is streaked with changing shades of red, amber and ochre.
The 8km (5 mile) drive to the eastern end of Slieve League from Carrick is bumpy but well worth enduring. Beyond Teelin, the road becomes a series of alarming switchbacks before reaching Bunglass Point and Amharc Mor, the 'good view'.

The Museum houses both temporary and permanent exhibitions which chart the history of Donegal from Stone Age to the Twentieth Century.

Mount Errigal is situated in the north-west of Donegal between Dunlewy, Gweedore, Gortahock and Glenveagh. It's a most distinctive and exciting mountain standing at over 752 metres (2,467 ft). Millbridge Farm is located along the River Deele, just outside Finn Valley. It was bought as a mixed farm in 1897 by the Witherow family. Today it's an open farm as well as a working dairy farm and attractions include horses, sheep, pigs, cows and various fowl. There's also a tea-room, a boating pond and a gift shop as well as a number of picnic areas....

There may have been an early Christian monastery in the valley where, according to tradition, St. Colmcille banished demons who enveloped the valley in a fog. The most conspicuous remains are the pillars decorated with cross-motifs and geometric designs which are now the  'stations of the cross' of the pilgrimage which takes place on the Saint's feastday on June 9th. The pillars are spread over an area in the valley 3.5 miles long and the pilgrimage takes as many hours to complete.
