Mary Deeneys Cottages are situated on the east side of the Inishowen Peninsula just off the R238, between Muff & Quigley's Point and overlooking Lough Foyle in beautiful Co. Donegal.
Grouped around a central "courtyard" area like a small village square, there are four cottages forming a part of single L shaped structure, with a separate detached cottage, completing the open square formation. Each cottage is different from the other, with its own unique characte, some with thatched or tiled roofing, some with stone faced walls and others in white painted plaster. All the cottages have the same basic features and quality throughout, though they differ in style, size, and appearance.
When staying at Mary Deeneys Cottages you are only 500 metres from the shore, a 5 minute drive to the shops, pubs etc. in Muff and only 8km from Derry. This is an idea base for touring the beautiful sights of Donegal and Derry.
The 3 bedroom cottage can sleep up to 6 people.
All main bathrooms have a bath, basin and toilet, with either an over bath or separate shower. En-suites/shower rooms have basin, toilet & shower.
The main living areas have open fireplaces, comfortable seating, TV and DVD player. The kitchens are fully fitted with electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
All cottages also have an iron and ironing board, laminate and tiled floors. We have linked up with Muff Cabs & Mini bus hire to offer our customers airport transfer to & from accommodation, this is great for large or small groups as the fee is a lot less expensive than airport taxi's, You also have access to the mini bus hire for your sightseeing trips around Inishowen & Derry or pub crawls.
Muff is the nearest village to the Cottages - just 5km away, from here you are only 5 minute drive to the South and close to the Northern Ireland border and the city of Derry which is only 8km away. At the southern tip of Inishowen off the road between Derry and Letterkenny at Burt, one may visit the site of a great ancient structure; - the Grianan of Aileach. Golfing enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that there are a few golf courses nearby; at Redcastle, Greencastle, Culmore (In Derry), Ballyliffin, with its 2 links, and Lisfannon at Buncrana. The furthest, should not be more than a 25 minute drive.
The city of Derry lies just across the Foyle River, approx 8km away. There is a ferry crossing the Foyle between Greencastle and Magilligan Point into Northern Ireland. This is convenient for touring along the North Antrim Coast and to The Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills.
