Great Arch Cottage is a bright and spacious 4* traditional style cottage with lots of charm and excellent modern facilities. It has a large south facing deck, fantastic views, is within walking distance of long white sandy beaches; has fabulous walks and of course cosy pubs nearby!

The cottage has 3 beautiful bedrooms with master ensuite. It is family friendly and pet friendly.  It’s everything you want for relaxing, golf, fishing, horse riding, walking or watersports!

Directions

Travel from Letterkenny to Portsalon and you will arrive at a crossroads, (Ardglass Inn on your left) turn right and follow the Fanad DRIVE for about 5 miles. 
The road has plenty of bumps and bends, you will then pass O’Doherty’s shop and petrol pump on the left. 
Follow the road, until you come to a T junction with a peach coloured house with Royal Blue gates. 
Turn right here and almost immediately, right again, at sign for Pollet Great Arch.
Drive on this lane and take the 4th laneway on right, which is just past the red roofed house and is opposite pillars with a red brick trim and stone on top. 
Our cottage is one of two white cottages on right hand side. Ours is the one closest to the sea, on your left as you drive in.

Local Area

Just minutes away is the highly acclaimed Blue Flag Ballymacstocker Beach at Portsalon and highly respected 18 hole Golf Links.  Just minutes in the other direction you can windsurf on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean at Ballyheirnan Bay.

There are numerous opportunities for hill walking, golf, fishing, horse riding and water sports. There are a few pubs, restaurants and coffee shops dotted around, to tickle you when you need it!  The cottage is the perfect hideaway for well needed break.

Great Arches Cottages

Description

Great Arch cottage offers modern facilities in the spectacular setting of the Fanad Peninsula, just north of Portsalon.  As soon as you arrive at the cottage you will be immediately awed by the beautiful vistas.  This south facing cottage’s elevated position commands spectacular panoramic views across Lough Swilly, towards the Atlantic Ocean and over the majestic Inishowen headland.  To the right there are serene views of Doaghbeg and further back views of the Knockalla Hills.

Inside we have a very spacious and cosy living dining area, with open fire and hearth to warm your cockles after a day’s adventuring! The large windows frame the wonderful and ever changing views. Some hot chocolate or something stronger if you fancy, is a must on deck, to reflect with the evening sunset.

Bookings
As well as weekly reservations beginning on Saturdays, Great Arch Cottage also accepts bookings starting any day of the week, available for certain periods throughout the year – all this is bookable online!

The Cottage can sleep 8 people with ease.  The cottage consists of 3 large bedrooms:
· 1 ensuite room with electric shower - king sized bed (Ground Floor)
· 1 bedroom with king sized bed and single bed (First Floor)

· Bathroom with separate power shower (First Floor)

Portsalon

Since Donegal is brimming with superb scenery, why not hop into your car and experience the Fanad Drive and then also the Atlantic Drive scenic route. They are most definitely Donegal's renowned and popular drives. The roads meander around the spectacular Fanad Peninsula and Rosguill Peninsula. Don’t forget to stop for a picture at the ever-photographed Ballymacstocker Bay and Tra na Rosann.

As well as superb scenery, Donegal is also renowned for its great nightlife. There is a great selection of pubs, bars and nightclubs scattered throughout the towns in Donegal. Each of the establishments feature diverse music ranging from traditional to jazz to rock.

As the cottage is 4 star, your rental comes equipped with fresh bed linen and towels, TV, DVD, Video, CD/Radio, electricity and oil.  We have dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and the all important tea cosy for those times when you need revived with hot tea by the fire!

We also have a separate TV on the landing to link up the Wii or Playstation to keep the wee people out of your hair! We have games, Lego, DVD’s and books for your use to help keep everyone amused.  We keep a highchair, baby bouncer and steriliser on hand to save you any hassle.
