There are three other fishery owner on the Lough, but day tickets are only let on the Letterkenny Association water. Three boats are available for hire and outboards are allowed but not supplied so anglers are advised to bring their own. This used to be one of the great spring salmon loughs, but it never really recovered from the effects of UDN. Occasional salmon are now taken in April and May and a 28lb fish was taken in 1985. The brown trout are small but the lough produces a few from 3-4lb every season and a 9lb fish was recorded a few years ago. It is as a sea trout fishery that the lough is now best known and in August and September it can produce really excellent sport. The average size of the sea trout is one and a half lb and a Peter Ross is one of the favourite wet flies, together with Teal, Blue and Silver, Connemara Black, Butcher, Wickham's Fancy etc. Dapping is very sucessful and brings up the bigger fish, with the average size taken on the dap running to about 2lb. In recent times, three anglers areknown to have taken 200 sea trout to their boat in seven days.
Glen is an interesting lough, deep on the north west side and shallow to the south east. Bank fishing is not allowed.
