Doaghbeg cottage is a newly renovated house, furnished to a high standard and situated on its own grounds. The cottage is bright and spacious with views of the surrounding hills, sea and the Inishowen Peninsula.
It is located in the heart of a rural community and a mere 5 minute walk to a secluded sandy beach. This is the ideal location ‘to get away from it all’ – switch off and relax - enjoy the peace, tranquillity and beauty of the Fanad Peninsula and yet be accessible to local amenities Golf Courses, restaurants, shops etc.
There are a variety of cross-country, hill and coastal walks in the area.
The cottage exceeds VAS 2 and the living area, double bedroom and adjoining shower & toilet are wheelchair accessible.
Directions
Airport or Ferry to Dublin or Belfast. Letterkenny –R245 to Ramelton – R246 Kerrykeel – Portsalon. Take Fanad Drive route - right turn at Portsalon crossroads (just before Ardglas Inn)- follow this twisty road for 5kms.
You will come to a straight stretch where you will see a small school in the near distance, you will then see the gable of the house (TV aerial on chimney) through the trees on left hand side.

The upstairs master bedroom is bright and airy, has a kingsize bed, a seating area (breakfast in the sun and take in the views of the sea and countryside), and a whb/vanity unit. Also upstairs are a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and a separate toilet/whb/power shower.
Located downstairs is a double bedroom containing a cot, with an adjoining separate level deck shower/whb/toilet.

The spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room contains an open fire, a comfy suite of 2 sofas and a chair, colour TV and radio/CD player.
The generous dining table is located under velux roof lights for a sunroom effect, with a door leading onto large patio area. Picnic bench, BBQ and garden furniture provided.
The kitchen is well equipped containing all mod cons – cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, Wok etc.
A tumble dryer, clothes line and ironing board and iron are also available. OFCH, fuel & electricity included in rent.

Great Pollet Arch and Japanese Gardens with access to Seven Arches nearby.
At Portsalon - Magherawarden beach (Blue Flag) sweeps along Ballynastocker Bay to the foot of Knockalla Mountain, recently voted the second most beautiful beach in the world, Portsalon Golf Links 18 hole.
Sarah’s Restaurant and quaint Rita’s Pub at the Pier are well worth a visit. Fanad Head and Lighthouse, the Lighthouse Tavern or Charlie’s as it is known locally is a cosy friendly pub with excellent Guinness.
There is another secluded sandy beach below the pub.

Avail of the ferry across Lough Swilly to visit Buncrana and Innishowen, visit Flight of the Earls Heritage Centre, enjoy excellent dining in local hotels and restaurants, 18 holes at Ottway Golf Club and horse riding at the Golden Sands Equestrian Centre.
More horse riding and golf at Carrigart and Downings. Glenveagh National Park is a must - spectacular natural beauty, castle, formal gardens and don’t miss the freshly made sandwiches and home baking at the castle coffee shop.
