A long-established bar in Waterloo Street, Peadar O'Donnell's prides itself on it’s meticulous attention to detail.
It may be one of Derry's busiest bars in the evenings but there is always room at "Peadar's" for a bodhran, a squeeze box and a fiddle. Be it for an established traditional group or an ad hoc session, there is no better place for locals and foreign visitors alike to sound out Derry's Celtic heartbeat and of course have a good night's "craic" in the process.
And Peadar O'Donnell? He was a Donegal man of destiny who left teaching to become organiser of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union, fought in the Civil War of the 1920's, served two years before escaping from The Curragh and went on to fight in the Spanish Civil War. A colourful character to fit a colourful pub!
