Saint Coloumb's Cathederal, Derry, Derry
The Seige Heroes Mound is sited within the grounds of St Columb's Cathedral and it once served as the temporary tomb for the remains of the thirteen Apprentice Boys whose burial place is on the north aisle within St Columb's Cathedral. The remains were removed from their resting place whilst restoration work was carried out in 1862 and placed in the tomb. On the return to their rightful resting place the mound was left as a further monument to the bravery of the young valiant men throughout...
