Walker's Plynth on West Wall stands on the original site of the monument dedicated to Governor George Walker who valiantly led the city during the Siege of Derry in 1689. Governor George Walker Memorial Garden located on Society Street next to the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall is a monument to the Governor of Derry during the Siege of 1689.
