The Victoria Hotel
Situated right at the heart of Cork's bustling city centre, the Victoria hotel has been temporary home to many famous figures since it was built in 1810.
Members of several European royal families stayed here, as did Charles Stewart Parnell and James Joyce; as a matter of fact Joyce names it in "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man".

The hotel has great potential as its a period building, but is in a state of dis-repair. Room was cold (central heating not turned on). Mold & Mildew on skirting, walls, ceiling and windows (both room & en-suite). Price is very reasonable for city centre location at €120 for 2 nights. Breakfast menu is very poor - not even fruit (fresh, canned or otherwise). Would not stay again unless it's renovated and would not reccommend to a friend.

Hotel didn't provide a parking concession for the nearby multi-storey as most city centre hotels normally do. Arrived at 1pm but could not check until 2pm. Left my bags and went to a match. Got a call at 6pm asking was I using my booking. Obviously staff hadn't informed each other that I had arrived.
