the vintage restaurant

The Vintage Restaurant nestles in the old medieval town of Kinsale which, until some two hundred years ago, was shielded by a wall which stood across the street from the restaurant entrance. The doorway 5' high is still discernable outside.
The oak beams and ceiling supports recall the early trade of this historic place eight hundred years ago. Local oaks were carved into great oars for galleys, ships masts and wine casks for Bordeaux, many of which later returned full of the finest clarets.
Old Irish recipes and fresh produce are in evidence, prepared and served in a wholesome, elegant and sometimes novel, happy manner.
