Strand View Holiday Homes is a newly-constructed house, situated in the picturesque village of Allihies in West Cork.

The sea-facing house is built on an elevated site with panoramic, uninterrupted views of the beach at Ballydonegan Bay, of the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding mountains. The property has a large balcony area which ensure visitors can take full advantage of the spectacular summer sunsets.

This self catering property is brand new and in immaculate condition with a 3 star grading. It is new to the rental market and finished to a very high standard.

The holiday home is spacious, comprising three bedrooms, large living room, fully fitted kitchen and outside space.

From Cork Airport
Take the N71 from Cork to Bandon
As you drive in to Bandon, take a right turn at the T junction and follow the signs for Dunmanway, Drimoleague and Bantry, driving along the R586.
From Bantry, take the N71 to Glengarriff.
At the end of Glengarriff Village, turn left on to the R572 to Castletownbere.
Drive straight through Castletownbere.
Continue for 12 miles until you reach Allihies Village.
 Strand View Holiday Homes (Cluain Village) are located in the village.

The house has three bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower- room, the other two bedrooms have twin beds. The bedrooms are decorated with a relaxing colour scheme and there are timber floors throughout.

In addition to the three bedrooms, there is also a bathroom upstairs with a bath and an electric shower.

Downstairs, there is a living room with timber floors. There is an open fire, comfortable leather seating in the living room.
The house has oil-fired central heating, ample provision is made for entertainment with satellite t.v., DVD player, radio and CD player.

The fully-fitted kitchen has a large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing-machine, dryer, electric cooker, microwave and coffee percolator. Off the kitchen, there is a dining area with double doors opening out to the outside space. The large hallway and downstairs w.c. completes the layout of the homes downstairs.

Comfortable patio furniture enables visitors to make the best use of the outside space.

For those who like active pursuits, the mountains around Allihies and the surrounding countryside provide a wide selection of walks, including mapped Beara Way routes. ‘The Strand’, a beautiful sandy beach at Ballydonegan Bay, only 15 minutes walk from the village, is the perfect place to swim and sunbathe. The village has a recently established Diving School if you fancy a bit of deep sea diving. Cycling and shore angling are other local options.

Pony- trekking can be arranged by visiting Dunboy Riding Stables. At the West Cork Sailing and Powerboating Centre in Adrigole, visitors can rent a boat or enjoy group day-sailing trips around Beara’s coastline, which include stops in scenic locations. There is a 9- hole golf course in nearby Castletownbere.

For those who wish to use Allihies as a base for exploring West Cork and Kerry, many towns such as Glengarriff, Bantry, Skibbereen, Clonakilty, Kenmare and Killarney are easily accessible as day-trip destinations.

Closer to Allihies, day trips on Ireland’s only cable car, to nearby Dursey Island (6 miles away) or to Bere Island, near Castletownbere, by ferry, are popular options.
 

Allihies
Allihies is a quaint small coastal village, situated on the western end of the Beara Peninsula, West Cork. The area has a magnificent, rugged beauty and a fascinating history.

The village is located near to Eyeries village and is renowed for its brightly painted houses set at the base of a mountain.  There are many amenities in the village such as a general store, post office, mine museum, a cafe seving snacks, drinks and meals, a bar serving bar food throughout the day with a seperate restaurant.  There are three pubs in total in the village all of which traditional music features on many a night and where visitors are always welcome to join in.
