The safe facilities in the rooms was an added bonus
Good enough hotel, but bathroom a bit dated. And the lesiure club a good stroll up the hill - although i did know this before booking.
The restaurant was badly organised at breakfast. This may have been partly because coach parties stayed at the hotel and they had insufficient staff to cater with a large group at once and had difficulty catching up after the party had left. Even so tables were not cleared in a timely manner and cleaning was not good. On one morning there was a lot of food on the floor in one part of the restaurant, the staff completely ignored it preferring to walk around the mess even though some people had to occupy a table right next to it. The decoration in the room we stayed in was tired looking and overall we felt this hotel was not good value for money. We would not stay there again and would certainly not recommend it. I suggest you consider whether you should give the Silver Springs Hotel such a good rating.

The management of the hotel would like to apologise and are very disappointed that the guests did not enjoy their stay. The hotel bedrooms have been completely renovated since July 2007, designed with our guests' comfort in mind offering a high quality 4 star product. The restaurant manager is investigating the other matter.
Very friendly & helpful reception staff, couldnt ask for any better!
Bathrooms need updating - no fan, no hot water on first night, flush not great. Was charged wrong rate on leaving, but got it sorted. Staff v helpful about all of it though.
We stayed on the Friday night and Sunday night, lovely hotel, rooms were lovely, 5 min drive into city centre by taxi, I would stay again.
The staff and service we recieved was very good in the hotel as we had to move rooms due to a leak in an above bedroom. The same cannot be said for the Leisure complex; we had booked this hotel as we believed the swimming pool-Leisure complex was adjacent. However, it was a significant walk over 10 minutes up a very sleep hill. This would put us off booking again at this hotel. Accessibility to Cork by public transport is poor as the bus that runs close to the hotel does not stop at the local stop and the alternative bus service is a 20 minute walk away.
Friendly staff. Great Breakfast from 7am, in large light filled restaurant. Great leisure facilities but bring the car if it's raining or cold. It's uphill, could you walk there in ten minutes?
The rooms are very modern and clean - decor and design excellent.
Nice to have use of leisure centre nearby - Bad form that broadband is free in the reception area, yet you have to pay for it in the room! Every other hotel I stay in is free
The Silver Springs is a good hotel for business travellers, the staff are very helpful and the facilities are pretty good. On the down-side, for tourists the hotel is a long way from the city centre. The nearest bus stop is about 15 minutes walk up a steep hill. We spent a lot more on Taxi fares than we had planned.
The position of the hotel close to the city and the main routes makes it excellent.
Some strangeties - first evening, was told that restaurant was fully booked and would have to wait an hour, but when we went down, on the offchance, it was three quarters empty. No problem getting places. Also, on second evening, at about five in morning, there was a banging on the sixth floor, as if someone was putting legs into chairs (I kid you not), banging, went on for about 40 mins. Wouldn't really have bothered me, but woke my partner and baby up - we were on fifth floor. I went out to investigate and met a staff member on the sixth floor at elevator and she told me that it had been sorted. When I mentioned it the next morning , when checking out, it was just brushed aside and "noted" but can't imagine that anything was ever done about it, once we went out the door. There was absolutely no mention of whether it disturbed or if our bill could be adjusted (not that I was after anything like that anyway). The first evening - the restaurant served some excellent food. The rooms were absolutely spotless and felt re-assuring when travelling with our two-year old.
We had a fabulous tome. I was particularly impressed with the service in the restaurant.
The rooms where not as plush as I had expected given the reputation of the hotel. There was a cocktail menu in the bar but they didn't have all the drinks to make any of thedrinks i asked for.
I did not like the traffic noise that I cold hear in my room. I asked to be changed from the first room the gave me on second floor because I could hear noise from some machine (kitchen extractor fans I think) In the second room on the 5th floor the traffic noise was surprissingly high. The rooms do not have the same sound insulation as other hotels.
A very nice hotel in an inconvenient location. While there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, the buses do not run in the evening (taxi from airport = 25 euro, to city centre = 10 euro).
The room was very clean......rare these days. Service was excellent.
