In the donkey sanctuary, 2,400 donkeys have been rescued from neglect by their ownner after many years of hard labour of pulling karts and doing farm work.  These donkeys have been taken into care at the sanctuary and great care is put in to make sure that they receive the attention that they deserve.
The sanctuary relies on the generosity of supporters to fund the work that they do for the donkeys

In the Bamboo Park visitors can view 30 different species of bamboo and 12 different species of palm trees. There are also eucalyptus and large tree ferns growing in the park. There are beautiful woodland costal walks (over 13 acres) and unique views of Glengarriff Harbour from the park....

Located on the Mardyke it possesses beautiful gardens which contain sculptures by Seamus Murphy, John Burke,. The park also houses the Public Museum, open free of charge except on Sunday's. It charts the history of Cork and Munster from prehistoric times.
The park is named after Edward Fitzgearld who was the mayor of Cork from 1901-1903....
