Over 12,000 seats have been made available on-line (12, 233 seats to be exact) to Cork and Kerry fans by Iarnród Éireann for the 2009 All-Ireland Football Final.
The total of 12,000 seats is a mix of Kerry-Dublin and Cork-Dublin scheduled trains over the weekend plus additional trains laid on by Iarnród Éireann on Sunday morning the 20th September from Tralee (06.30hrs, 07.15hrs), Killarney (06.30hrs, 07.30hrs), Mallow (07.00hrs) and Cork (06.30hrs, 07.00hrs, 07.30hrs and 09.00hrs) to Dublin, including an extra train from Killarney on Saturday, 19th September 2009 departing Killarney at 12.50hrs. which also serves Rathmore at 13.07hrs. and scheduled to arrive in Dublin Heuston at 16.08hrs
Both scheduled trains and additional trains will also serve intermediate stations such as Farranfore, Rathmore, Millstreet, Banteer and Charleville.
The 12,000 Seats were made available on-line (www.irishrail.ie) yesterday morning at 11.00hrs (8/9/2009) and within hours 40% of the seats were sold.
Seats are still available and Iarnród Éireann is urging all intending passengers to purchase their rail tickets on-line or through the Iarnród Éireann Telesales number 1-850-366222. Priority will be give to passengers who have booked on-line.
This is the biggest All-Ireland Train Programme planned by Iarnród Éireann in years and GAA Fans are being asked to co-operate with Iarnród Éireann staff at Stations and to travel on the trains which have been booked.
Iarnród Éireann is delighted to bring both All-Ireland Counties supporters to Croke Park and to make it more comfortable and more enjoyable for all customers - alcohol will not be allowed on the additional trains.
