Magnificent area in the heart of old Glengarriff valley, once the property of Lord Bantry. Driving, cycling and walking excursions.
Ancient woodlands and new plantations. Contains Lady Bantry's Lookout and different riverside and mountain walks. Leaflet available: 'Let's Walk Around Glengarriff'. The many trees that grow in the Forest include Oak, Holly, and Birch. A few Yews and Arbutus trees can also be found scattered around the forest.

Picnic and parking areas are available. Public road entrances are 1 mile north of the village on the Kenmare Road, and less than 1/2 mile west of village off the Castletownbere Road.

The area is well signposted. Whole days, half days or shorter periods can be enjoyed exploring these wonderfully scenic woodlands, rivers, waterfalls and streams.
