The 49-bell Carillon, unique in this country, is played from a console within the belfry. A closed-circuit system shows the carillonneur playing the instrument. To mark this 81st year, an enhanced programme is planned, including guest recitals by leading carillonneurs, grant aided by the Arts Council, the Cork County and Cobh Town Councils.Recitals take place on Sundays from the 4th of May 2008, to 28th of September 2008.

Cork Comedy Festival will be Munster's premier comedy event showcasing the best of Irish and International comedic art forms. We will be embracing sketch, improv, stand ups and music. This event will take place in the month of July....

Events include: the best dressed dog and cat, bonny baby, clothesline, tractor and trailer and superman competitions, obstacle trails, sheaf throwing, crazy golf, horse shoe pitching, traditional Irish dancing and set dancing.This festival is normally held around the end of July- beginning of August....

Walks are graded and guided and include walks of Toe Head, Glandore, Skibbereen Trail Famine Walk, Lough Hyne, Union Mall/Myross and Gougane Barra.
