Welcome to this beautiful family run Bed and Breakfast.
Desert House is a Georgian style farmhouse, situated on a forty hectare dairy farm overlooking Clonakilty Bay. Families can enjoy watching the activities of farm life or walk less then 1km to explore the historic market town of Clonakilty with its excellent supermarkets, small shops, restaurants and pubs. Many of these pubs provide nightly entertainment.
Its location is central for visiting West Cork, Cork City and Blarney amongst other popular tourist attractions.
Clonakilty has become one of the most popular weekend venues and is host of several weekend festivals, including a pub festival and International Guitar Festival. The West Cork Motor Rally is held annually in March and is based in Clonakilty.

From Cork City follow signs for N71 to first roundabout in Clonakilty, from Skibereen/Dunmanway follow bypass signs to roundabout. Then follow signposting for Desert House on coast road towards Ring Village. Desert House is the first entrance on the left.

Each bedroom is comfortable and beautifully furnished. All rooms are equipped with T.V., hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.
The surrounding countryside, sea and town can be viewed from the bedrooms.
There are five bedrooms in total four of which are en-suite. Double and single en-suite three, double en-suite one, and one twin non en-suite. Single room bookings can be taken for all rooms.

Desert House is owned by the same family since the mid 1800’s. The quiet location, relaxing sitting room and surrounding garden and farm contribute to a restful holiday.
Pets are welcome and there are many varied walks in the vicinity. With laundry and drying facilities supplied by the house your every need will be satisfied.

For those interested in wild birds, Desert House is particularly well situated beside the habitat of many varied seabirds, some of which only visit this part of Ireland. A scenic stroll will find you on the sandy beaches of Inchydoney Island.

There are 2 nine hole golf courses, pitch and putt, two horse riding centres and one horse trekking establishment within the area.
The keen fisherman can book a place on a deep sea fishing excursion or game fish in the local rivers.
The local sports complex supplies facilities for tennis.
Other facilities include, children’s playground, 3 screen Cineplex and surfing. Inchydoney beach being the central location for the West Cork Surf School.
