is a truly beautiful, ivy-clad farmhouse hidden away in East Cork. The house was voted in the top '100 Places To Stay In Ireland 2007', and the proprietor Margaret Browne is a former housewife of the year and now one of Ireland's leading chefs.
So you are sure to enjoy your stay, as you enjoy a long comforting breakfast or one of her legendary six course tasting menu dinners. Particularly enchanting is the jasmine-scented conservatory, where you will find a welcome cup of tea and some shortbread biscuits.
Ballymakeigh House received the "Good Hotel Guide Award 2006" and is Fodors Choice 2007.

Ballymakeigh House is just over 30 kilometres from cork city, east on the N25. You will find the signs at Killeagh village from the Old Thatch Pub.
Rooms
All of the rooms in Ballymakeigh House are individually decorated and named after local rivers. You are sure to enjoy the peace and solitude that only the country can provide.
Each room has a king sized bed with electric blanket, crisp white linen, soft down pillows and a cosy duvet. You will also find a CD player, a hair dryer and there are also non-smoking rooms available.
Facilities
Ballymakeigh House provides you with private car parking and you can bring your beloved pets but they won’t be allowed into the house itself. Nature lovers will be charmed with the beautiful gardens and the viewing gallery of the dairy farm itself. And if you would like to have a small intimate party you will be facilitated.
The house is beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and fine antiques. And outside you will find a full sized hard tennis court.

Ballymakeigh House is located in some of the most beautiful countryside, ideal for walking. Killeagh village itself has many pubs and there are frequent GAA matches held locally.
Within 10kms
A little further a field, are the blue flag beaches at Youghal, Ardmore and Garryvoe. Also there is golf at Fota, Harbour Point, Youghal, Lismore and East Cork. Midleton, home of the world famous Midleton Whiskey, is nearby also.
The legendary Blarney Castle is not far away and neither is Ballymaloe Cookery School and Gardens
