Ballymakeigh House is a truly beautiful, ivy-clad farmhouse hidden away in East Cork. The house was voted in the top '100 Places To Stay In Ireland 2007', and the proprietor Margaret Browne is a former housewife of the year and now one of Ireland's leading chefs.
So you are sure to enjoy your stay, as you enjoy a long comforting breakfast or one of her legendary six course tasting menu dinners. Particularly enchanting is the jasmine-scented conservatory, where you will find a welcome cup of tea and some shortbread biscuits.
Ballymakeigh House received the "Good Hotel Guide Award 2006" and is Fodors Choice 2007.
