Staff helpfull.Allowed me to leave my car in the carpark for the day even though I had checked out in the morning
The service was first class, the location was great, the room was fine (small but I don't mind that), except for the bed, which was awful - springs jutting through flimsy padding everywhere. However, the staff more than compensated for the nightly discomfort. They were all very pleasant and helpful.
Extremely central hotel, under 2 minutes walk to Patrick St,also quite close to and on a direct road to rail station,so it scores top marks for location, the only hotel that might be more central is The Victoria on Patrick st itself. However, single room was very small and with a cell-like feel to it. My impression is that accomodation is more expensive in Cork relative to Dublin for a similar standard of accomodation,i would have thought the cost of doing business in cork should be slightly lower than in a capital city, but maybe that's not the case. Perhaps there isn't a large enough population base in Cork relative to Dublin. Either way,i still think that, like for like,Cork is poorer value.
Central and adequate
The Ashley Hotel was good value for money. As a 2 Star Hotel "it does what it says on the tin". Ideal location for the city centre.
