The Usual Place, situated in Market Street, is probably the oldest pub in Ennis and its present day character has close nostalgic links with the social habitats of yesteryear.
The exterior of the premises composed of hand cut stone and rustic brick is eye catching and indicates the traditional old-world format which is manifest within. Resembling a select Victorian ale house the stone walls and vintage woodwork imbue the premises with its unique character.
Lots of ancient memorabilia, lanterns, horse brasses, items of antiquity etc and a series of historic black and white photographs add to the unhurried - good humoured charm of The Usual Place.
This pub attracts a large local fraternity as well as tourists, visitors and day trippers to Ennis. The appeal of the premises is such that people from all walks of life can mingle in social harmony and savour the genuine welcoming atmosphere. <
