The original shop front, 1864 in vintage, almost 'Dickenson' in architecture indicates the mood of this ‘old world’ style emporium. Stone, brick, tiles and seasoned timbers from the original building have been lovingly integrated into the character of Knox’s.
The loft bar on the balcony is just one of the many unique and intimate drinking areas within, each one with its own identity and appeal - there is a nostalgic scent of yesteryear throughout.
Upstairs, 'Alexanders' Restaurant parallels in character and charm although the mood is slightly different to facilitate the busy food trade.
The emphasis at Alexanders is on providing an extensive menu at affordable prices. House specials, steaks, exotic and standard fish dishes, from breakfast to dinner all meals are imaginatively transformed from fresh ingredients and served in comfortable surroundings.
Throughout Knox’s attention to detail is obvious, staff are friendly and professional and the styling provides an all round programme of appeal.
