Mrs Elizabeth Crotty was born in west Clare in 1885. She first began to play the concertina around the turn of the century. By the 1950's she became a pioneer of the Fleadh Cheoil movement.
Today, her celebrated name continues to stand guard over the Market Square in Kilrush, while her concertina music continues to inspire hundreds of enthusiasts throughout the 'Irish Music World'. The Willie Clancy Summer School of traditional music promotes the practice of Irish traditional music, song and dance through six days of intense workshops. The practical dimension is augmented by lectures on various aspects of the tradition. Dates to be confirmed...

This annual festival aims to gather people to celebrate with us our cultural and traditional events, over a week. This includes open air dancing, traditional music, singing, art displays, sporting activities, currach racing and much more.

Ennistymon Festival is a family orientated festival based around childrens activities during the day and music events for adults at night. There will also be a colloboration with visual artists in the locality who will exhibit work at a venue in the town.

The Merriman festival at Cannys Bar and marquee in Killanena is on the Bank Holiday Weekend in August every year. We have had in the past Martin Hayes, Tulla Ceili Band, Ronnie Drew, Aslan, The Sawdoctors and this years attraction being Picture House and Big Generator not to be missed....
