Craggard House is located in a tranquil rural setting near Ennis in County Clare, just off N18 and adjacent to Burren Crag Self Catering House. As its name suggests, it is situated in the Burren, an area of unique landscape with outstanding beauty and distinctive plant life.
Craggard House is a charming farmhouse and is the oldest house in the townland of Craggard, built in the late 1800s. This beautiful farmhouse is now a 4 star self catering holiday home, being lovingly restored and tastefully decorated to create a relaxing and peaceful ambience of a bygone era.
The TV Lounge, dining room & kitchen are open plan with a solid fuel Stove. The Master bedroom is en-suite with a further 3 twin bedrooms, the house sleeps up to 8 people comfortably.
From Shannon or Limerick: Coming form Shannon or Limerick, stay on N18 bypassing Ennis and Barefield. Take first right after end of Dual carriageway. Burren Crag is first house on right.
From Ennis: Travel towards Galway, as above, but avoid going into Barefield Village.
From Galway, Athlone or Dublin: Travel through Gort staying on N18 through Crusheen and take 2nd left Burren Crag is first house on right.
There are 4 bedrooms in total in this house, sleeping up to 8 people making it ideal for families or a get together with friends. The Master Bedroom is ensuite with a further 3 twin bedrooms.
Bed linen, towels, high chair, travel buggy and extra beds are available on request.
Craggard house offers all modern conveniences including Laundry room with washing machine & tumble dryer. Dishwasher, microwave, Colour TV & DVD, Oil fired Central Heating.
There is ample private parking and a nice garden with large old Chestnut tree that shades you from the summer sun.
There are plenty of beaches in the area, take a short drive to the seaside towns of LaHinch and Kilkee. Or visit one of Irelands most popular natural tourist attractions - the Cliffs of Moher. From Clare you are also within easy reach of the Aran Islands, ferries leave daily from Doolin, the islands are steeped in Irelands history and are one of the few areas where Irelands national tongue - Irish is still spoken as a first language.
Craggard House is a great base for touring the wonderous region of the Burren. The Burren is scattered with attractions like Poulnabrone Dolmen and Aillwee Caves. To get a real glimpse of the Burren, follow the ‘Burren Way’, which is a 26 mile signposted trail that brings you through this unique area.
