From Limerick
Take the N7, travel for approx 10 miles to Birdhill, pass through the village and take the left turn (R494). Travel along this road for 2 miles and we are 100 yards past the 60 kph speed limit on the right.
From Nenagh Take N7 for Limerick, travel for 8 miles and take right turn (R496), travel for 3 miles and take right at T junction, we are a further 100 yards on the right.
We are exceptionally easy to find, being just on the outskirts of Ballina/ Killaloe. From Limerick, take the N7 and travel for approx 18kms to Birdhill, pass through the village and take the first left on the roundabout (R494). Travel for 3km and we are 100 metres past the 50 kph speed limit on the right. We have a sign at the roadside of our property. From Nenagh take N7 for Limerick, travel for 8 miles and take right turn (R496), travel for 3 miles and take right at T junction, we are a further 100 metres on the right. From Killaloe village, cross the bridge to Ballina and turn right, travel out towards Birdhill, we are just before the 50 km speed limit sign as you leave the village.
Four spacious bedrooms, two with double beds, one with a double bed and one single bed, and finally a family room with one double bed and two single beds. All rooms are ensuite with shower facilities; one of our double bedrooms has a full bathroom with bath. All rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A hairdryer is provided for each room and an iron is available on request.
All rooms are beautifully decorated with carpeted floors, central heating and have wonderful views of the garden and surrounding countryside.
Large dining room with conservatory for guest use. Large manicured garden for guest use with mixed perennial borders that are a riot of colour particularly in the summer months. There is a large fish pond which is well stocked with ornamental fish.
We are just 5 minutes walk from the twin heritage towns of Ballina/ Killaloe, there are a number of historic sites, including Killaloe Cathedral, and Brian Boru’s Fort. There are also a number of spectacular scenic drives in the area with panoramic views over Lough Derg and the surrounding mountains.
Local Amenities: There are a large number of excellent restaurants in the area. A tour boat; The Spirit of Killaloe, provides great boat trips on Lough Derg and makes 1 hour trips up the Lake and has a commentary on the history of the area and heritage sites that can be viewed from the Lake. It can accommodate up to 40 persons and has bar and tea/coffee facilities. The Lough Derg equestrian centre is just 300 metres from Carramore Lodge. T.J.’s Fishing tackle shop is in the village, and as well as providing everything for the angler can also arrange fishing trips with a personal service.
Are there any tourist attractions near you? Within walking distance: St Flannans Cathedral, one of Ireland oldest churches. Brian Boru’s Fort. Within 30 minutes drive Limerick City, with St John’s Castle, Hunt Museum, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Thomond Park the home of Munster Rugby, and the University of Limerick with its fabulous leisure centre. A number of really good golf courses, including East Clare, Nenagh, Castletroy to name but a few. Within 1 hours drive. Birr Castle and Demense, Portuma Castle and Gardens, wonderful scenic drives along the lake. Craggaunowen Prehistoric Park., Glor Irish Music Centre, Ennis. Foynes Flying Museum. Rock of Cashel Within 2 hours drive. The Burren, Alwee Caves, Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, Cork City and surrounds.
