The Avarest Bed & Breakfast is located at the Hurlers Cross, a residential area at edge of Shannon. To get there from Shannon, you may take the N19 out of the town and take the R471 at the roundabout. The Hurlers Cross is the first left at about 100 yards.
From the N18 highway, you take the R471 exit which is signposted for Shannon and Six Mile Bridge. If you head for Shannon, the Hurlers Cross is the first right.

Bunratty Casltle in located just 2 miles from Avarest B&B. The castle is home to the renowned medieval banquets, which is famous for it fantastic food and nightly entertainment. Within the grounds of the castle you can step back in time and explore the folk park and the thatched cottages.
Lough Derg and River Shannon
Lough Derg is a tranquil river which is full of history. Enjoy a cruise along in one of the many yachts available for hire. For the water enthusiasts waterskiing and angling are also available.
The Burren
The Burren is a large limestone region and the plants and wildlife are plentiful. You can explore this unique landscape with its flora and limestone pavement. There is more than 2.500 historic site to be explored from tombs, a castle to ringforts.
The Aran Islands
To truly capture the beauty of this area, visit the Aran Islands. These beautiful Islands can be seen from the coast of Clare. The Islands can be reached by ferry from Doolin in Galway. There are 3 islands, Inishmore, Inishmaan and Inisheer.
Ailwee Caves
Located underneath the Burren. A tour guide will explain the history of these magnificent caves, from their caverns, under formations to the thunderous waterfall.
The Cliffs of Moher
The magnificent Cliffs of Moher are 230m above sea level. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.
