The Old Schoolhouse, Meenaslieve, Co. Cavan is a totally restored 4 star state of the art self catering accommodation comprising three double bedrooms (two ensuite) on the first floor with a fourth ensuite bedroom on the ground floor designed for wheelchair access.

The 200m2 property has been restored with energy conservation and sustainability in mind. Solar and pellet boiler heating, rainwater harvesting (toilet flushing), and reedbed filtration are some of the technologies employed at the schoolhouse.
The house although energy friendly combines state of the art technology with comfort.

The kitchen has all mod cons including 5 burner twin oven cooker as well as a living room with surround sound, home cinema, 32’ LCD TV and games room with pool table, Nintendo Wii and another LCD TV.

Rooms

There are 4 double bedrooms in this converted schoolhouse, 3 on the first floor and one on the ground floor. Two bedrooms have en suite facilities. The main bathroom of the house and also the third bedroom have access to the upstairs balcony overlooking the lounge.
The ground floor bedroom has a double bed and semi-ensuite walk in shower, which is wheelchair accessible.

Facilities

On the open plan ground floor is the dining room with large table which seats 8 comfortably just off the kitchen. The lounge has an inset wood burning stove with 32’TV and stereo with CD and MP3.
There is a games room with pool table, Nintendo Wii and HDMI 32’LCD TV.
The kitchen is state of the art with 5 burner twin oven cooker, large fridge/freezer. The utility room is separate with washing machine, condensing tumble dryer and butler sink.
Outside is a patio with wood burning heater, barbeque and garden seating. All in the garden is organic and natural with wheelchair accessible pathway. There is also ample park.

Most importantly is the peaceful and unspoilt nature of the immediate surroundings together with the friendly disposition of all our neighbours. The schoolhouse is a place to relax and unwind with a good book and plenty of wood on the fire, weather permitting.
