If you are taking part in the Kilnaleck Soap Box Derby then you may like to know what all the rules and regulations are.

The Kilnaleck Soap Box Derby will be held on Thursday 27th of December. Entry is €30 and you have to show up at 11am sharp at the starting point (at Airpacks). If you have a soapbox to enter (closing date is 18th of December) then you will have to meet certain criterion.
The driver has to be over 16 years old and will have to have a helmet and gloves. If you entering as a team, then ye can take it in turns to drive the car in different races but there is only one person in the car at a time.
The car can be either a three-wheeler or a four-wheeler; the steering wheel can be either a wheel or handle bars. Your car may not weigh over 100 kilograms and the Wheel axles can be no more than 122 cms (4ft). The cars can only be powered by gravity so No Pedals. Don’t forget to make sure your car has functional brakes so you can stop at the end or in case of emergency. Don’t forget to name your car as well.
All the cars will be inspected before the races to ensure compliance and all racers enter at their own risk.
