The Galway Film Festival 2008
The Galway Film Fleadh takes place this year from the 8th –13th of July in Galway city in the west of Ireland. The festival attracts everyone from film buffs to budding film makers to view the best of the best of Irish, European and International cinema. Shaw's Birthplace
Shaw’s Birthplace at 33 Synge Street is one of Dublin's top historic sites. This two-storey Victorian terraced house was the first home of the famous Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw who later won numerous prizes for his works, including the Noble Prize for Literature (1925) and an Oscar (1938). The Old Jameson Distillery
Smithfield Village is the heart of Old Dublin and right here you'll find the Old Jameson Distillery. Irish whiskey dates back to the 6th Century when Irish monks learned of the distillation process on a trip to the Middle East. As a result the craft of Irish whiskey making or "Uisce Beatha" meaning "water of life" was born.
