About the festival...
The Dublin Dance Festival 2008 (formerly the International Dance Festival Ireland) will be coming to the Abbey Theatre in April and May of 2008.

This festival is dedicated to bringing contemporary dance to the fore. The festivals in 02, 04 and 06 were such a great sucess that the 2008 was assured of going ahead.
Down through the years there have been several high profile dance companies taking part in the festival with only the best dance companies in the world selected to perform. 2008 is no different, and in this festival the well-known Forsythe Company from Germany, will be the main event attraction at the festival.
In addition to the breathtaking dance performances, there will also be other workshops, master classes and seminars. Other features include dance on film, dance for children, site specific performances, exhibitions, public lectures, master classes and a focus on critical writing. The festival will take place from Thursday 17th of April to Saturday 3rd of May, and it will be held in the Abbey Theatre.
