Viewed as the capital of the Connemara, Clifden is located about 50 miles West of Galway city. If you're driving, the trip from Galway through the fantastic wilderness of the Connemara region is well worth it. The town is set amidst breathtaking mountain scenery with the back drop of the 12 Bens Mountains and just minutes from the spectacular rugged coastline. 

Clifden is the perfect holiday destination. It offers championship golfing facilities and it's also perfect for angling, swimming, snorkling, scuba diving or just splashing about. If you'd prefer to stay on dry land there's horse riding, hill walking and Connemara National Park with almost 3,000 hectares of bogs, woodlands and mountains, stretching from the 12 Bens Mountain range to Letterfrack.
