The Forest Park, formerly Gosford Demense, was acquired by the forest Service in 1958. It comprises some 240 hectares and is set in gently rolling Drumlin Country. The elevation ranges from 60 to 100 metres and the area is situated on a basalt plug which can be seen to outcrop in places in the small river which flows through the Forest Park....

Annagarriff Wood lies at the heart of this reserve, having survived as a hunting preserve for over 200 years. Although felled on occasion, it has never been farmed and most native tree species are present. Oak and birch predominate but rarities such as yew, aspen and alder buckthorn may be seen.
