Bed & Breakfast (B&B) owners and tourists will benefit from a new low-cost, high quality guidebook, which contains lists of every approved B&B in Ireland, according to Dr Stewart Stephens, Managing Director of Gulliver Ireland.
He was speaking at the launch of the new Irish Homes Bed & Breakfast Guidebook 2009. The guidebook is published by Global Print & Media and Tony Meighan Ltd., in association with GoIreland.com, Gulliver Ireland's flagship website.
The new 100 page full-colour guide has a number of special features including GPS co-ordinates for most properties and a property type colour coding system, which simplifies selecting and finding a property for visitors.
Each display includes the respective property owner's details and all Gulliver Ireland members featured can be booked online on www.goireland.com or by e-mail or telephone.
The publication is available nationwide through a network of shops for only €3, which confirms it as the country's most reasonably priced B&B guidebook as well as the most comprehensive. The guidebook is also available from tourist offices and will be delivered to households in major urban areas.
Overseas, the guidebook will be distributed by Tourism Ireland and can also be downloaded online from www.gulliverireland.com
Gulliver Ireland, Ireland's leading cost effective provider of reservations and tourism information, which is part of FEXCO, has over 1,000 B&B members using its online GullNet system.
Speaking at today's announcement, Dr Stewart Stephens said, "The B&B product is a unique and wonderful part of the Irish tourism experience. Like other tourism providers, B&Bs must examine every opportunity of boosting bookings and reducing costs. This guidebook offers B&B operators a fresh new marketing channel at a low price of just €170, which is a fraction of the cost of entering similar guides.
From the tourist perspective, visitors can now get a top quality guidebook for a great price, which is half the cost of existing alternatives. These days everyone must be innovative and show value including marketing organisations. The new guidebook will give the sector a much needed boost and demonstrate to providers and customers alike that B&Bs are looking to the future," he added.
