Gulliver Ireland, Ireland’s leading cost effective provider of reservations and tourism information that is part of FEXCO, announced that it has won the Irish Internet Association (IIA) 2009 Net Visionary ‘ Online Tourism’ Award for its website, www.goireland.com.
The award was made for consistently promoting Ireland as a tourism destination through the best use of Internet channels and technology. Sponsored by Fáilte Ireland, the award category considered online work undertaken by enterprises in targeting indigenous and overseas customers. Now in their 11th year, the IIA awards are unique as they are operated and voted on by the Irish Internet industry.
GoIreland.com, Gulliver Ireland's flagship website, is the largest tourist accommodation website on the island of Ireland. The website offers the widest spread of tourist accommodation with approximately 8,000 properties and offers extensive information on ‘things to see and do’ in Ireland.
Commenting on the award, Dr Stewart Stephens, Gulliver Ireland’s Managing Director, said, “Gulliver Ireland has worked for many years to build the best possible online shop window for Irish tourism providers. Winning an Irish Internet Association Net Visionary award is a wonderful acknowledgement by our peers for our online work and is a testament to the excellence of the Gulliver Ireland team.”
