The Belfast Wheel

The Belfast Wheel has become a bit of a crowd puller with tourists and locals alike wanting to get a bird's eye view of Belfast. At its highest point you can enjoy wonderful views of the city from City Hall out to the suburbs of Belfast and on to Cave Hill. And you can follow the path of the River Lagan as it winds its way through the centre of Belfast. Our top tip is to take your city map with you and try to pin-point as many landmarks of Belfast that you can from above!

Belfast's answer to the London Eye is the Belfast Wheel. Its base is the east side of Belfast City Hall where it will operate until November 2008. Take in the stunning views of the city from 200 feet high – it's fantastic by night! So if you're visiting Belfast anytime before the end of November 2008, a ride on the Belfast Wheel is a must. Each capsuel can hold eight people and the duration is about 12 minutes.

The opening times are as follows…
