Various events take place over the 3-day festival catering for all ages, from workshops to street entertainment, pipe bands, busking competitions and a whole lot more. The workshops normally take place during the day and offer classes in various activities and skills. These are mostly aimed at children.
Activities include guided walks exploring the sea shores and taking in local historic attractions. And for anyone interested in fishing there's a Deep Sea Angling Competition. There are also boat trips organised where you can go dolphin and whale watching.
By night the town comes alive with open-air concerts and street entertainment. The pubs will also be jam packed, many of which will have live traditional Irish music. Famous names that have played here over the years include Jack L, Aslan, and Emerald Elvis and many more.
Cahersiveen is located on the world famous Ring of Kerry route and is one of the major stop offs along the way. Cahersiveen is accessible by car, and is clearly signposted. There’s also a bus service from Killorglin and Killarney.
If travelling from Killarney take the N72 to Killorglin, and from here proceed onto Glenbeigh via the N70. Continue along the N70 to Cahersiveen, passing the pretty fishing village of Kells along the way.
